Welcome to The Barrel. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

The Barrel is a personal collection and community app for bourbon and whiskey enthusiasts. It allows you to catalog your bottle collection, log tasting notes, connect with other collectors, and discover information about releases.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized use of your account.

3. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you post, including tasting notes, photos, and community posts. By posting content, you grant The Barrel a license to display that content within the app to other users as intended by the relevant privacy settings (e.g., public feed, tasting circles, or private to you).

You agree not to post content that is:

• Illegal, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory.
• False or misleading regarding a product, price, or trade offer.
• In violation of someone else's intellectual property rights.
• Spam or commercial solicitation unrelated to genuine collecting and trading.

We provide a reporting feature so users can flag content that violates these terms. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate this policy.

4. AI-Assisted Features

The Barrel's label scanning feature uses a third-party AI model to identify bottles from photographs. AI-suggested results are provided for your convenience and are not guaranteed to be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any details before saving them to your collection.

5. Trade Board — Important Legal Notice

• You are solely responsible for ensuring that any trade, sale, or exchange you arrange complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the transfer of alcohol, including age verification and licensing requirements where applicable.
• The Barrel does not verify the identity, age, location, or trustworthiness of other users, and does not guarantee the condition, authenticity, or legality of any bottle listed.
• The Barrel is not a party to any transaction arranged through the Trade Board and bears no liability for disputes, losses, or legal issues arising from such transactions.

6. Tasting Circles

Tasting Circles are private groups created by users. Circle creators and members are responsible for the content shared within their circle. The Barrel does not actively moderate private circle content but reserves the right to act on reports of policy violations.

7. Termination

You may stop using The Barrel and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Barrel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-suggested information will always be accurate.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Barrel and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to losses related to trades arranged through the Trade Board.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
